The Heart of New Ulm’s Food Environment Action Team, along with the KNUJ Farmers Market, invite all youth ages 4-12 to a Power of Produce Day at the farmers market at German Park in New Ulm on Saturday, Aug. 6 from 9 to 11 a.m.
The first 50 families who stop by the Heart of New Ulm’s table at the market will receive $10 in produce dollars to use for produce at the market (no jams, jelly or baked goods). A variety of other fun learning activities will be offered.
The Power of Produce Day aims to encourage families with children to visit their local farmers market, support local produce vendors, and encourage youth to make healthier food choices by offering them money to purchase their own produce at the market.
