Join us for our October Worksite Wellness Training and Networking event, which will teach you the QPR technique — Question, Persuade and Refer — the three simple steps anyone can learn to help save a life from suicide.
Thursday, Oct. 13, 2022 from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. at Turner Hall, 102 S. State St. Purchase lunch on your own; limited menu available
Just as people trained in CPR and the Heimlich Maneuver help save thousands of lives each year, people trained in QPR learn how to recognize the warning signs of a suicide crisis and how to question, persuade and refer someone to help. It is the most widely taught gatekeeper training in the United States that teaches best practices in suicide prevention.
QPR gatekeeper training is intended for community members 18 years and older and professionals including health care workers, first responders, law enforcement, educators, clergy, bankers, lawyers and more!
The 90-minute FREE class includes information about high-risk populations including youth, the elderly and farmers. Learn about suicide warning signs, statistics, myths and local resources.
Pre-registration is required at https://tinyurl.com/OctQPRtrain. Class size is limited to 30 participants. Open to anyone 18 years and older. Continuing Education Credits available.
Taught by a Certified QPR Gatekeeper Instructor from 2B CONTINUED, a nonprofit based in Southern Minnesota with a mission to increase awareness of suicide prevention, mental health and wellness through advocacy, education and outreach.
